“I think you’re going to be happy. I think you’re going to find someone who multiplies your joy when you’re with them. I think you’re going to find a job that you feel engaged doing and excited to work at. I’m not sure where you’ll be living (ie city, town, etc) but I think it’ll be in an apartment/house that feels like a home. And I think you’re going to fill the next ten years with adventures and memories that you’ll smile when you look back on”
”You’ll have found your fashion sense and be wearing trench coats everywhere. You’ll still love those. You’re going to be really good at your job and you’ll find things to like about it. You’ll find a European boy, a lawyer maybe.”
“You’ll probably be rich. Rich husband, probably both C suites. White, maybe. Reasonably happy. Two kids. Perpetually exhausted. Living either in UES or Connecticut or something.”
“You’ll be a millionaire, and do a job where you’re supposed to be working a lot but somehow you only work like 5 hours a day. You’ll have a partner, but you won’t be married until 35, and no kids. You live in a very nice apartment and host dinner parties a lot.”
“You’ll be high up in a company. You’ll have deprioritized work. You’ll have a medium sized dog, not sure what kind. You’ll live in Chelsea if you stay in New York, or you might go to LA where it’s sunny, and not SF because you’d hate it. You’ll be married at 32 to a tall, scrawny white guy in consulting, just one of the people that never left. You’d have one kid. And you’d join a rec league of a competitive sport and get really into it like biking or track or roller hockey. You wouldn’t host dinner parties, you’d have the connects to host straight up restaurant parties for your friends.”
“You’d be doing your own thing, like starting your own business. And you’ll be really into it. In these ten years you’ll have tried a lot of different things and figured out what you like. You’ll be content, regardless or not if you get married or have kids, because it’ll have been your decision and you’ll have good reasons. I want you to move somewhere very different from the northeast, at least for a bit in the next few years and learn something new about yourself.”
